United got off to a great start to pre-season with a win over rivals, Leeds. Mason Mount played his first minutes in red whilst Raphael Varane captained the side in the first half. The two goals came in the second half as Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill both found the back of the net! 👏

My first-half standouts were Mount, Hannibal and Amad, all full of energy and had some great moments. 2nd half I thought everyone played well but it was great seeing Emeran and Kovar, definitely two to keep an eye on

Hannibal was impressive. Calm, collected under pressure, aware of what's around, can find the pass and reads the game very well. He's also a physical presence. Surely deserves more first team minutes.

This is the season for Hannibal to shine. If Emeran keeps playing this way throughout the preseason, expect him to be promoted to the senior team soon. As for Huggil, it's only one game I've seen him, but as a CF, I don't mind seeing him try his luck as a CF in the senior team. We sorely need players like that who can play in that position.

I was really impressed by some of our spells of passing from the back under pressure in the second half from our team. Kovar pulled of some really risky short-medium range grounded passes negating the Leeds United frontline press.
