He practically won the Euros for Denmark back in 1992 and when he moved to Sporting they won their first title in ages. He was the decisive factor in many trophies won, among the best goalkeepers ever.

Lifting the Chamions league trophy in his final game,and completing the treble,was a fitting and fully deserved farewell. Such a big part of Utd's years of succes........truly, a Utd LEGEND.

Schmeichel's goalkeeping IQ was top-notch. Some of those saves were just super-human. The number 1 on the list is exemplary of what a legend he was. He had the awareness and the presence of mind to not just make the save but to push the ball over for a corner kick. Any other keeper would have pushed it back to the field of play, that is if they would have made the save to begin with

I had the pleasure to see Peter play many times in Sporting. I swear , when he kicked the ball from his goal line, the ball was higher than the light posts from old estádio José de Alvalade. That was really impressive! Also watching games on television from that same stadium, I used to count the seconds the ball disappeared from the screen, because was too high, when a goalkeeper kicked to mid field.. Peter Schmeichel was the longest by far. XD Im sure there is footage of it around you tubes.

He was a complete goalkeeper. Great saves, fast reflexes, dominant in the box, and the guy could throw the ball over half the field! But perhaps his greatest asset was his ability to direct the defence and making both theirs and his own job easier. .

That star jump vs Inter Milan was extraordinary. How he anticipated it only he knows. He was and still is the greatest goalkeeper ever to have graced the game. He could easily have adapted to the modern game such was his football skills

I remember watching the Rapid Vienna save live way back with my family. Our jaws smacked the floor. The reaction time of our man Peter was beyond supernatural. Just incredible. The best I’ve ever seen since “that” Gordon Banks save which coincidentally was extremely similar

I as a younger me, 17-19 years of age, used to travel to to whom ever had the cabel tv, which aired Man U games at the time, truely because of Peter. If you didnt get, or had, the chance to witness how magic he was, you’ ll never understand. Peter was something very else.

Peter will forever be the best GK of all time. This is just a sneak peak, i had the pleasure to follow his entire career, this guy was not human. Straight out of Captain Tsubasa skills.

That save from Zamorano turned out to be vital. No other keeper would have reacted like that. I'm no Man Utd fan but he is the best keeper I have ever seen. Also remember his performance v Germany in Euro '92 final 👏👏👏

As phenomenal Edwin and David de gea were. They dont even come close enough to Peter Schmeichel. He truly was on another level. Not just United best but arguably one the best goalkeepers of all time.

He made some incredible saves in the European Cup for Denmark, when they won in 92. I still remember it, unbelievable saves. Without him they would never have won the trophy 🏆 easily top 3 of all time best goalkeepers.

In my opinion Peter Schmeichel was and Still the Best Goalkeeper of all time,The ManUtd domination in the 90's was partly due to the Great Dane,I remember when l was teen I watched ManUtd matches only to see the saves of Peter Schmeichel 😍
